Very tiny small book. Way overpriced for just a few pages. It is so short it is almost a brochure. So is the HE book. Johnson gets to the point about the archetypes but I can't believe the cost for a 25 plus year old small used book.

My loved SHE! It's one of the best books I ever read. It's entertaining and profound, makes you laugh and think. What else to you want from a book? Usually books that make you think are too dark, and sad and heavy. Not this one! Like the movie "Groundhog"s Day" it has many levels.

Not so thrilling for me

This was not so much a science fiction novel as a thriller with just enough sci-fi to make the premise somewhat plausible. That's not to say this book was thrilling, the author never really led you to a cliff, gave you a peak over the edge, then swooped down for a breathless rescue. This was more of a train trip from point A to point B without much scenery to gaze at out the window taking your mind off the clackety-clack of the train passing over the tracks. I found myself constantly checking my watch wondering if this train would ever pull into the station. Part of the problem was the author's complete lack of a voice. This read like a technical manual most of the time. An editor and/or proof reader would have helped too. It's hard to get lost in the story when stumbling over a poorly constructed sentence, only to back up and try to figure out what the author meant because of a missing word, extra word or sometimes just the wrong word. Using "to" for "too" or "there" instead of "their" are rookie mistakes that should have been eliminated in Comp 101.

Overall, I can't say I would recommend this book to anyone else or look for other titles by this author and that's too bad because this story had promise. But the goal of a free download should be to whet the appetite of the reader and bring him back wanting more. On that level this book failed. Better luck next time.

Nice plot

The plot is nice and quite juicy in many ways. The beginning with randomized order of chapters was highly annoying, though I see the goal. It is a book about mixing the cause and result, but maybe this was slighly cheap way to make it concrete to the reader. The end came too soon and could have developed the idea much further. I was bit disappointed also for the shallow characters. The text flow was quite nice and kept me reading.

Entertaining and Thought Provoking, Waiting for the Sequel!

This is one of those books that become harder and harder to put down the more you read. The mystery and intrigue continues to build right up to the end. You actually hate to see it come to an end. This is one of those books that make you wish there was a sequel so that the adventure can continue. I agree with one of the other reviews that put this book in the same category as Cussler and Clancy. If you like adventure and mystic you won't go wrong with this book. I bought the Kindle edition but will be getting the traditional book version as well and will be looking for more from this author.

About the Author

The former editor in chief of the French magazine PowerMag, Frédéric Delavier is currently a journalist for the French magazine Le Monde du Muscle and a contributor to several other muscle publications, including Men's Health Germany. He is the author of the bestselling Strength Training Anatomy and Women's Strength Training Anatomy, which have sold a combined over 640,000 copies in the United States and have been translated into 15 languages.

Delavier is a gifted artist with an exceptional knowledge of human anatomy. He studied morphology and anatomy for five years at the prestigious Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and studied dissection for three years at the Paris Faculté de Médicine.

Delavier won the French powerlifting title in 1988 and makes annual presentations on the sports applications of biomechanics at conferences in Switzerland. His teaching efforts have earned him the Grand Prix de Techniques et de Pédagogie Sportive.

Delavier lives in Paris, France.

Still the Standard for Weight Training Posters

To quote an earlier review from 2008, "...The incredible artwork from illustrator Frederic Delavier's best selling Strength Training Anatomy book repurposed as a series of 7 high-quality posters. A fantastic resource for the gym or weight room!...". This short review really sums up this product. It is great reference material for you to have in your gym. Delavier's books probably contain more detailed information, but I would not know for sure since I have not actually read them. However, if you just want to get down to work on the body parts you want, with minimal fuss, these laminated charts are it. I have them in my personal gym, and they are informative and motivational. They are also interesting for kids who are studying anatomy in high school...

My only gipes are that the official description on Amazon does not make clear you are getting 7 laminated posters, covering the different sections of the body (legs, chest, shoulders, arms, etc.). 7 for about $10 each. Trust me, its a bargain. My other gripe is that the poster dimension is non-standard: 23.5 x 31.5 inches. In order to fit into standard (and cheap) poster frames, you can either trim the sides so much that the posters look too cropped, or you can by an oversized poster frame and cut it down to size. They should have just made the posters slightly bigger, or smaller. Small issues, for an otherwise great product.

Strength Training Anatomy Posters - Great for a workout room

I really loved the information and artwork provided in these strength training anatomy posters. It is great to visualize the muscle movements before doing an exercise. This information provided is very basic and you may already know it, but the posters are a great addition to a home workout room.

I can also see this being useful if you have teens or young adults who are starting to workout for the first time.

It is really great to have something covering the walls that is workout related.

Positives -

1.) The artwork/illustrations by Frederic Delavier are wonderful
2.)The posters are laminated, so you don't have to worry about them falling apart after a few months.
Negatives -

1.) Basic, but useful information provided on posters
2.) The posters are rolled up tightly, so it does take some time to straighten them out

The quality of the graphics is amazing and detail of the anatomy is awesome. Great posters to hang on the wall in a home gym. Biggest drawback in the unusual size of the posters which makes it difficult to find a frame that fits them.

Drei von vierzehn Stadtvierteln werden v�llig zerst�rt, sieben sind unbewohnbar. Tausende Menschen verlieren alles, was sie besa�en. Doch was war die Ursache f�r diese verheerende Katastrophe? Seit fast 2000 Jahren besch�ftigen sich Historiker mit genau dieser Fragestellung. Eine der �ltesten und detailliertesten Schilderungen der Ereignisse findet sich bei dem antiken Geschichtsschreiber Publius Cornelius Tacitus, der zum Zeitpunkt des Brandes zehn Jahre alt gewesen ist. Neben der �berlieferung bei Tacitus wird der Brand auch in anderen antiken Quellen geschildert, deren Autoren den Brand jedoch alle nicht pers�n-lich miterlebt haben k�nnen. Dazu geh�ren u. a. Sueton mit seiner Nero-Vita und Cassius Dio mit seiner R�mischen Geschichte, deren Werke mit denen des Tacitus in dieser Arbeit verglichen werden sollen. Problematisch ist dabei allerdings die Intention, mit denen die drei genannten Autoren geschrieben haben. Sie stammen alle aus der senatorischen Geschichtsschreibung und m�ssen daher entsprechend kritisch gelesen und bewertet werden. Da sich alle Autoren bereits auf andere Quellen beziehen, m�ssen ihre Werke zudem als Sekund�rquellen eingestuft werden.Weitere m�gliche Schriftquellen w�ren Plinius der �ltere mit seinem Werk naturalis historia und der Satiriker Juvenal. Einen guten �berblick �ber die verschiedenen Quellen findet man wenn auch schon sehr alt bei Kurfess .Das Ziel dieser Arbeit soll es sein, die Darstellung von Tacitus, Sueton und Cassius Dio auf ihren Wahrheitsgehalt zu �berpr�fen, dabei die Interpretationen der modernen For-schung zu ber�cksichtigen, um somit eine m�gliche Antwort auf die Frage nach der Ursache des Brandes zu entwickeln. Dabei sollen die drei Autoren zun�chst getrennt voneinander betrachtet werden, um sie anschlie�end m�glichst effektiv und geb�ndelt miteinander vergleichen zu k�nnen.In der modernen Forschung haben sich drei wesentliche Forschungsmeinungen zu dieser Frage entwickelt. Einige wenige Historiker schlie�en sich den antiken Quellen an, die Nero die Schuld am Brand Roms geben. Gegenargumente dazu finden sich vor allem bei Robichon, Grant und Scheda. Eine weitere Interpretationsm�glichkeit ist es, den Christen die Schuld an dem Brand zu geben, so wie es z. B. Bishop, Grant und Schwier getan haben. Am h�ufigsten findet sich jedoch die Meinung, dass der Brand zuf�llig ausgebrochen sei, z. B. bei Robichon und Hanslik.
